The weather finally sounds like it’s going to stop raining and dry out. The Gulf islands fishing has been good one day spotty the next. Fishing the Grande dragging bottom has been producing there also have been 3 or 4 halibut caught in the last 2 weeks in the Gulf islands. T10 south has been producing one here one there but with the water and weather changing should start to get back to where it was a couple weeks ago. The West van shoreline is still producing a Coho here and there and a few undersize Springs with the odd legal Spring. This area should get better after a few days of no rain and the fish will start to stack up again. Howe Sound has started to produce some nice Springs Hole in the Wall has produced some nice Springs up to 30lbs with a few Jack Springs mixed in. Other places that has produced fish in Howe Sound Salmon Rock, West side of Bowen, and Grace Islands and the Hole in the Wall area up past Sunset marina. Sounds like the weather is going to be sunny with no rain so things should look better in a few days. Only a couple more weeks till the Pink salmon hit Howe sound.

Well finally after a week of North west wind it has died down abit can’t remember the last time it blew for a week. Boats could finally fish the West van shoreline again. There were a few schools of Coho down there and an odd Spring hopefully it calms down and the fishing will get back to how it was a couple weeks ago. There still are fish in the Gulf Islands off Thrasher and the Grande but the water has not let anybody fish over there except the few that are docked in Silver Bay. In Howe Sound a few nice Springs have been caught at Hole In the wall, and off Sunset marina with a few Jack Springs also which are just undersize mature Spring salmon. The West side off Bowen island has produced some real nice Springs in the last week again the North West hits there so limited time fishing there so if it stays calm we will get a good read on all these spots in the next day or so. Crabbing is still great and should stay that way.

Finally after a couple days of rough water charter boats could get out to fish the south end of Bowen island. Most boats ended up with a coupe Spring salmon each with a shot at gettting another couple. The weekend looks like it’s sappossed to be nice and calm. Crabbing remains very good in howe sound.

Fishing in the lower Georgia straight the past ten days has started to produce a good number of springs. Fishing off the south end of Bowen island between 1 to 4 miles out has been the main area the salmon have been getting caught. The weather has generally been calm except for a couple days and fish from 10 to 29lbs have been caught. When you get on the fish they have not seemed to be to picky I have caught fish on anchovies, Gibbs spoons, and evan a couple different hootchies between the deapths of 90 and 120ft. In the next couple weeks Gabriolla island should start to produce, a great place to spend the day if the water is calm. The season has started of great and it should just continue as more fish arrive.
